The Iconic/Ironic Spring 2011 Collection by Rescue Beauty Lounge is available now. RBL’s formula is so nice, and the polishes often sell very quickly. I like that this collection has some very wearable, kind of neutral shades that are still soft and suitable for this time of the year. Swatches of Decorous and Insouciant coming up!
I have one more polish from Orly’s Spring 2011 Precious Collection, Royal Velvet. This is the darkest of the six, a dark blueish purple with strong blue shimmer. It’s a pretty and dramatic color.

Zoya’s Zara is an older Zoya polish I ordered as part of their Facebook promotion. It’s a pinkish medium lavender with strong gold shimmer. I thought it would be a perfect test for Dior’s Rock Coat!
With the new Rescue Beauty collection for spring becoming available, I started thinking about my Rescue Beauty polishes and deciding what to order. No More War is possibly my favorite of all–it’s a soupy, pea green with tons of yellow. It’s so pretty and so weird, I hadn’t worn it in a while.
As another installment of the Essie Spring Collection, I have some swatches of Topless and Barefoot. I had held strong but came across this unexpectedly in a CVS, and decided to pick it up. I love those little labels on the top of the cap of the retail Essies! This one is not part of the normal retail display (which only holds four of the spring colors), you have to find it in its retail packaging on a sort of small, countertop display that fits onto those shelves that drugstores have towards the front of their makeup sections. So I rationalized by telling myself that I would likely not find it again-I had to buy it!
I had a glitter craving and just broke out my bottle of OPI’s Last Friday Night. It’s a light blue glitter from the Katy Perry Collection, with a mix of blue and holographic round glitter pieces. But first, I pulled out my Chanel Khaki Vert.

Dior’s Rock Your Nails Collection is up on Nordstrom’s website now-there has been a lot of anticipation for this one, particularly for the Rock Coat smoky top coat. Rock Coat is sheer enough to let your base color show through, and it’s the only sheer topcoat I know of that can darken your nail color. There’s so many sparkly or glittery topcoats that I was really looking forward to this one, since it offers a different kind of effect-swatches coming up!

This is the polish that the girl in the Orly Precious Collection promo picture wears–she’s relaxing in some shady outdoor area and her nails glow with a gentle white color. I decided that I wanted to try it too! Pure Porcelain is a creamy, pinkish beige but it has a lot of white in it; it’s brighter than any of the other neutral polishes I have.

Here’s a release that’s almost an oldie at this point–OPI’s Simply Smash-ing! and Black Shatter “Glam Slam” duo. This is the one that started the shatter onslaught when it came out back in January. Just to re-cap, it is the first of the Serena Williams duos that OPI will be releasing throughout the year, to coincide with the dates of the tennis Grand Slam championships. This one was for the Australian Open.
Butter London has just released a nail polish celebrating Kate Middleton’s marriage to Prince William. Prince William and Kate Middleton met while they were both attending university at St. Andrews, and have been dating for so long that the British tabloids have been calling her Waity Katie for a while–but now Prince William has proposed, using Diana’s big sapphire ring. The wedding is scheduled for April 29th, and there’s a lot of speculation about who will design Kate’s dress, but for now you can get your Royal Wedding fix with Butter London’s No More Waity, Katie.

Here’s another polish from Orly’s Spring 2011 Precious Collection-this one is Fancy Fuchsia. I always have trouble spelling this word. I just looked it up on Wikipedia, and apparently it’s a German word pronounced differently in German, but the English pronunciation means that it’s often misspelled by English speakers. The ‘s’ is after the ‘ch’. It’s a really bright pink!

I’m still trying to work through the China Glaze Crackle Collection and try out all of the combinations that I’m curious about. I’ve been impressed with Broken Hearted and Cracked Concrete, but then I had a fail on last Sunday when I tried to use Lightning Bolt (the white one) over a dark blue color. I didn’t even take pictures because it was so nasty looking-the white didn’t actually crack apart except in a few spots, and it just mostly looked grey because of the dark blue underneath. I’m not sure if there’s something wrong with my bottle, or if it just needed to be shaken up, or what. So, I decided to just move along and try Crushed Candy over Zoya’s Kelly.

Look at those crazy flower thingeys on the bottles! They’re actually rings, so you can slip them around your finger and wear them. On me, they seemed a little too big, but my fingers are kind of small. But anyway, this collection is so cute! So fun, and so cheap, all at once! I love Fingerpaints.
This is the other “sorbet” finish polish that I picked up from OPI’s Texas Collection (I also reviewed OPI Guy Meets Gal-veston). Do You Think I’m Tex-y? is a red raspberry color with a bit of blue in it. It’s shiny and fruity!

Naked has already shown up on magazine covers and on Anne Hathaway at the 2011 Oscars, and Glitter in the Air was inspired by Pink’s performance at last year’s Grammys, so they are both well-pedigreed.
