Dior’s Shadow is from the Les Violets Hypnotiques Collection, which took a long time to reach America but was finally available this summer in Nordstrom’s Anniversary Sale.

Dior’s polishes for this holiday season even look like little Christmas ornaments; they’re packaged in little round bottles topped with decorative gold tops. I was trying to be restrained about this collection, but I changed my mind after seeing how quickly Diva sold out online.

Last year at Christmas, Selfridges was selling an exclusive Dior polish named Swan, number 011. I even called the Selfridges Dior counter in London to try to have it sent to me here in Kentucky, but it was impossible-I couldn’t get it done. I’ve looked for it since then with no luck, but when I realized that Dior’s new “Lady” polish was also numbered 011, I starting wondering if I had finally managed to snag Swan, under a different name.

I have another layering experiment with OPI’s The Living Daylights to share – I like this one best! I thought that a lighter color would help show off all of the interesting colors in this topcoat.
Dior’s Amazonia is a dark, greyish olive-brown color, and was released as part of the Fall 2012 Golden Jungle Collection. It has that Dior tiny shimmer, and feels cozy. I tried it as a base layer for OPI’s new glitter for Holiday 2012, The Living Daylights.
OPI’s holiday collection is starting to show up in stores now – it’s another movie tie-in, this time the new James Bond movie (Skyfall). Each of the twelve polishes in the collection is named after a Bond movie, and I have swatches of the couple I’ve picked up.
Dior’s Nude Collection came out recently – it’s a collection of four polishes that are all nude-beige colors, sort of. None of them is a true, conventional nude color. My favorite is Charnelle, it’s a very light and lively polish.
When I posted swatches of OPI’s My Pointe Exactly (from this spring) someone mentioned in comments that it reminded them of Moon Over Mumbai, which I just happened to have from years ago, before I was very interested in fingernail polish. I pulled it out and like it way better than I remembered!
I’m posting a few pictures of Dior’s Golden Era polish – it’s being promoted as part of the Golden Jungle Collection for fall, but it’s actually a re-promote of a sort.

Just stopping by for a quick post since it has been so long since I’ve written anything. I have a new baby! Which is why I haven’t posted any polish pictures in a really long time now. I’ve found out that new babies don’t even really allow time for showers, much less fingernail polish.
So I’ll be posting much less for the foreseeable future, although I’m going to try to not let the blog die entirely. I haven’t been wearing much fingernail polish, and I haven’t been taking any pictures, but (perhaps unfortunately) it’s not stopping me from purchasing new fingernail polish. The Dior collection for fall is so pretty! And the Les Violets Hypnotiques are so interesting, and finally available on Nordstrom and even Dior.com. I snapped them up and stashed them for now. I’ll do posts when I can, and probably be trying and wearing new polish even when I can’t get around to posting pictures.
