Before we get too far into 2011, I wanted to post my New Year’s Eve nails. We had a party at our house on New Year’s Eve, and some of our really good friends came to visit and stay over, so on New Year’s Eve I was running around and vacuuming and washing sheets and making vegetarian pig-in-a-blankets all day long. It was so nice to see our friends! I ran out of time, though, and hadn’t painted my nails, so I reached for China Glaze Cheers to You in a brief slow moment when everyone else had gone out to pick up some take-out food for dinner. And whoa it’s shiny!
I slopped it on really quickly, and then I smushed like three of my fingers into something else and just had to pat it back into place and add some more top coat. But I loved it! It’s sparkly in such a clean, pretty way. I think I much prefer the slightly more scattered but still brilliant sparkle of the foil finishes over the more finicky and brush-stroky frosty metallics.
I didn’t even think I would take pictures, but when I woke up the next morning, the sun was shining more brightly than it has this whole winter. It seemed a shame to not capture that silver shine in a picture. So here are the New Year’s Eve nails, from a photograph taken on New Year’s Day:
Pretty, right? And kind of fresh and ready for a new year.
