China Glaze Holiday 2011 – Tinsel Town and Twinkle Lights Swatches

China Glaze has another big holiday collection this year-the Let It Snow Collection is twelve polishes, in all different colors and finishes.  Today I have swatches of two glitter polishes from the Let It Snow Collection, Tinsel Town and Twinkle Lights.

Tinsel Town is a tinted grey base with silver glitters, both tiny and larger round glitters.  The formula and opacity reminds me of the really nice formula on It’s Alive from China Glaze’s Halloween collection; like It’s Alive, it took only two coats to be fully opaque and the glitter is still beautifully sparkly.  In some pictures I’ve seen, Tinsel Town has had a slight bluish tint, but on me I just saw silver and grey.  Tinsel Town gives me a wintery, dark feel, so pretty.  It’s a nice glitter and even dried pretty smoothly for something so full of glitter pieces.

Twinkle Lights combines small gold, red and green glitter.  The base on this one seems to be clear, and even with three coats it wasn’t opaque.  I also had a little bit of trouble with the formula on Twinkle Lights, it was a little thick and I had to push it around a bit to keep from getting bald spots.  This polish is okay, but I’m not loving it.  I don’t have the patience for four coats, so I’ll probably just wear this one as a layering polish over other colors.  Party Hearty from China Glaze’s 2010 holiday collection is still my favorite holiday glitter, and in comparison this one is not as distinctive, but still kind of pretty.

The Let It Snow Collection is out in stores now – I picked mine up at a local salon.
