I’m just posting a quick post tonight in response to a request for a comparison. Someone was wondering how close Essie Topless and Barefoot and OPI Steady As She Rose are, and after I thought about it a bit, I was kind of wondering too!
Both of these colors are muted, soft versions of pastel colors, and both have a lot of pink in them. But Essie’s Topless and Barefoot is mostly a peach, while OPI’s Steady As She Rose is mostly a very pale, pink-purple color. Since both colors have a fair amount of grey they can give off a similar feeling on the nail, but they’re actually pretty different.
I have to say that if I could only have one, I would pick the Essie. I like that it’s a timeless yet modern take on a nude, peachy color, and I could see myself wearing it for a long time. The OPI feels more trendy, since there’s been so many grey and purple polishes over the last few years. Both applied really well and take three coats, but I think I may prefer the Essie brush to the OPI. Hope the comparison helped!
