Today I have swatches of another of the Anselm Reyle polishes – Electric Blue is a vibrant, screaming royal blue. It’s by far the brightest blue polish I own.
Just like Pink Graffiti from the Anselm Reyle Collection (reviewed here), the formula on this polish was really nice, and only took two quick coats to be opaque. It has the wide Dior brush that’s tapered to make application easier. This blue is kind of shocking on the fingers, it’s so bright. I like how vibrant and artificial it is – it’s hard to think of things to compare it to, because it’s such a pure, paint-colored, not-of-the-real-world blue.
This polish looks just a bit darker in real life than in my pictures, and not under bright sunlight, which brings me to the caption in my title. It does remind me of the University of Kentucky Wildcats‘ team color blue, which can vary a bit in darkness or brightness depending on whether it’s on a nylon jersey or a cottony t-shirt. Wildcat Blue is an artificial, brightened royal blue. This is THE perfect UK basketball nail polish (and Go Big Blue is a cheer that you’ll hear at every UK basketball game). Until now, UK blue polish was mostly found among cheap drugstore brands with less than ideal brushes, but this Dior polish has changed all of that. I’m so excited to break it out come March. UK men’s basketball is ranked #1 in the country right now, so around here we’re all starting to get hopeful about springtime, and March, and the NCAA tournament…
This polish would be perfect to wave under the noses of any stray Cardinal fans you might come across.
Electric Blue and the other Anselm Reyle polishes are available on Dior.com.
