Dior Nude Collection – Charnelle

Dior’s Nude Collection came out recently – it’s a collection of four polishes that are all nude-beige colors, sort of.  None of them is a true, conventional nude color.  My favorite is Charnelle, it’s a very light and lively polish.

Charnelle is a fairly sheer color, and the first two coats were a bit streaky.  I used three coats for my pictures below.  It built up, though, in a really pretty, cushiony way.  It gives a light pink feeling, but in my pictures it’s a little more beige than in real life.  I really liked how it was lighter than my skintone, but in a soft and clean-looking way.  It’s not harsh at all, just very pretty and feminine.

In other swatches I’ve seen it looks even more sheer than it turned out for me, but I’m not sure why.  I just used a regular, clear basecoat.  I actually hesitated to buy it since I don’t like very sheer colors, but it built up to an almost opaque feel for me – in everyday wear I didn’t feel like my nail line was distinct.  Maybe it’s because I used fairly thick coats, but with the nice Dior formula it still dried quickly.
