Essie Resort 2012 No More Film vs. OPI Sapphire in the Snow

I’m happy to report that the Essie Resort 2012 Collection is out and available at Target!  At one near me, anyway.  I was surprised to see these because last year’s resort collection wasn’t available in retail packaging at all as far as I know – I could never find it at WalGreens or Target.

Since I wasn’t really expecting to see this collection while Target shopping, I got kind of excited when I found these and picked up a couple.  Today I’m sharing my swatches of No More Film, a deep blue-purple color – it is indeed a blurple.  The formula on this one was great, and had that silky thickness that the best Essie cremes can have.  It took just two coats to even out and be opaque, and was easy to maneuver.  It came out a bit darker on the nail than I thought it would, but it’s pretty and still vibrant.  It’s probably not a color I’ll wear to work, though.

I pulled out the queen of blurples, OPI’s Sapphire in the Snow, to compare.  In the pictures below, No More Film is on my index and middle fingers and Sapphire in the Snow is on my ring and pinky fingers.  You can see that Sapphire in the Snow is a bit darker and has a hint more red than No More Film.  This comparison made me see No More Film as more springy than before – it’s definitely more springy than Sapphire in the Snow.  I like that it’s just a bit lighter.

This picture shows the blue/violet tone in No More Film well.
