Essie Resort 2012 – Pink-a-Boo

Here’s another polish from Essie’s 2012 Resort Collection: Pink-a-Boo, a sheer, shimmery light pink.  In the bottle this is beautiful, with a shimmer that gives off a greenish-blue flash.  It looks really delicate.

I found when I painted it on that it’s even more sheer than it looks – it has this sort of milky, goopy quality and was streaky, especially at first.  It took a little bit of extra dry time, a light touch and three coats to even out.  When the sun catches the shimmer it’s pretty and has a strong flash, like in the picture below.  Overall I do like this color, especially for spring.  But it’s not the best formula ever, especially compared to the silky formula on No More Film from the same collection (reviewed here).

This picture shows less flash and more of the overall color – it ends up looking  a little chunky, or piece-y, since the shimmers are so strong and the base is so sheer.  I do like how light it looks on the nail, it’s more whitish than baby pink.

The Essie Resort Collection is out now – I picked up my bottles at Target.
