The Zoya Flame Collection came out for holiday 2010, and I’ve ended up collecting three of the six. I was looking at pictures of all six together, and I realized that I’ve chosen all three that had the foil, metallic finish–Crystal, Tiffany and Gloria.
I bought Crystal first after seeing reviews of it-it’s a unique light greyish blue with dense, gold metallic bits mixed in. It is reported to be a dupe for an OPI polish sold exclusively in Europe, called Reflecting Pool, which kind of piqued my interest. I think it gives a wintery feel, and it’s very sparkly. I wore it on my toes for about a month and half around Christmas!
All of these pictures show three coats of polish, which went on well and dried quickly. These polishes are so sparkly, but in a muted, twinkly way, not glittery. I really like this finish!
Next up is Gloria, a rosy pink with lots of gold sparkle. These are just so pretty, with the blend of the little sparkle pieces creating the overall color. I like that this one is a muted pink-something about it also seems kind of wintery, since it’s not like the bright creamy pinks you see in the summer. Gloria is sparkly like the others, but still works in my fairly conservative office.
The last of the foils in this collection is Tiffany. I hadn’t really thought much about it but after trying the other two, the finish is so nice that I decided to get this when I ordered the Intimate Collection. It ends up looking like a peachy color, from the blend of light pink and gold sparkles. I like the pieces of pink sparkle in this; it makes the color look very lively and I think it will work in spring and summer as well. I also felt fine wearing this at work, since it’s a fairly normal color, especially when you see it from farther away.
The other colors in this collection have more of a shimmer finish (judging from pictures), but they’re pretty too. They can all be found on Zoya.com.
