For the next installment of my food polish posts, here’s another Lynnderella – Spumoni! This makes me think of ice cream.
When I was a kid I remember my parents buying Spumoni ice cream a lot. It’s a bit like Neapolitan – there were stripes of different flavors in the ice cream box, which always resulted in one of the flavors getting picked out first, and recriminations about who took too much, chocolate? Or pistachio? I can’t even remember which was the flavor that ran out first anymore.
So when I saw this polish I also felt like I couldn’t resist it. I mean, after dredging up those kinds of memories? So here are two coats of Lynnderella’s Spumoni over two coats of Zoya’s Dove. I love this layering combination; the really light grey lets the aqua-mint glitters in Spumoni really pop out and look delicate and icy. Spumoni applied really well and I got lots of diamond shapes and red glitters. I only saw pictures of this layered over mint or white polishes, but I like this combination over light grey much better. Over a mint base the glitters just blend in, but with this slightly darker base each glitter piece pops out. It looks so creamy and pretty. I considered lots of base colors, but most of my other light greys were too yellow or brown – I like that this still has a cool look overall.
I love all the red and pink glitter pieces in this polish. It applied pretty smoothly and I only used one coat of Essie Good To Go topcoat for these pictures. I actually put this on during a swatching session and couldn’t make myself move on; it stopped everything and I’ve been wearing it for days now. I’m also craving Spumoni ice cream now!
Lynnderella polishes are available now only on eBay.
