Here’s another one of the OPI Muppet Glitters – Gone Gonzo is a clear base with tiny light blue glitter and silver hexagonal glitter. For a coordinating but darker base color, I tried Chanel’s Blue Rebel, one of the 2011 Fashion’s Night Out polishes.
Gone Gonzo is so pretty in the bottle, sky blue and flashy. I liked the effect of layering Fresh Frog of Bel Air with a coordinating base, so I picked out a recent dark blue to use under Gone Gonzo – Chanel’s Blue Rebel. It was the darkest of the three Les Jeans polishes, and has a deep but dusty blue tone.
Gone Gonzo had a nice, not-too-thick formula, and covered really well with just one coat. The glitters spread out nicely and evenly. Over Blue Rebel, the blue flash of Gone Gonzo gives a frosted look, with blue glimmering off the edge of the nail. This looked starry, like a night sky, to me. The silver glitters add a scattered, pretty sparkle. I really liked this combination, a bit more than the Fresh Frog of Bel Air combination. The silver glitters are so well-suited to the blue tone of the glitter and base polish. This isn’t really a holiday look, but it has a wintery feel.
In the shade, the density of the glitter comes through. So nice for just one coat.
The OPI Muppets polishes have been out for a while, although I’m still hoping that the stores near me will re-stock so I can find Gettin’ Miss Piggy With It. This seems to happen with a lot of the popular OPI collections, so I’m thinking that there’s still a chance that the displays will be re-filled.
wow! I love this combination!
wonderful!
