When I posted swatches of OPI’s My Pointe Exactly (from this spring) someone mentioned in comments that it reminded them of Moon Over Mumbai, which I just happened to have from years ago, before I was very interested in fingernail polish. I pulled it out and like it way better than I remembered!
I remember having lots of problems with Moon Over Mumbai, and always finding it to be too streaky. However, I think that the problem was more my application skills than anything. When I pulled it out of my drawer and tried it out now, I found that I didn’t have any problems at all. I guess I’ve had more practice with fingernail polish since I bought it. I had to use three coats (slightly gentle), but it went on ok. It’s a sheer grey, very light. It has a slight shimmer that comes out in the sun that I think makes it even prettier than My Pointe Exactly. I like it better! It’s a little shiny and dressy. The visible nail line isn’t too bad, although I would make sure to have shorter nails when I wear it. Success! I love that I’ve been hauling this around for years, and now I’ve finally grown into it.
I bought this in a Duane Reade drugstore on the Upper West Side a long time ago. It brings back memories!
