OPI’s Animal-istic is a bright red with a hint of orange – it will be a great red for this holiday season. Swatches coming up!
I started my reviews of OPI’s Muppets Collection with Warm & Fozzie (reviewed here), and the next up is Animal-istic. This polish is a bright red with small, regularly shaped shimmers that flash red to a bit orange depending on the light. It’s a very lively red and I like that it’s not too dark or heavy looking. Animal-istic has a nice formula but did take three coats to be fully opaque. You can see the slight orange tone around the edges of my nails in the picture below. In person it’s a bit brighter than it appears in my pictures.
This picture shows how heavy the shimmer in Animal-istic is; it’s fine but still flashy.
I liked this shady picture because it came out so much lighter and shows the orange tone, and the way the shimmers have a very slight duochrome thing going on-where the light hits they look more pink and shade to orange at the edges.
I’m also happy with this second polish from the Muppets Collection, and I think that it’s slightly different from other reds I have – the fine but still flashy shimmer and the orange undertone make it just a bit wilder than a conventional red. The Muppets Collection should be available at the normal OPI places soon, if not already. I have a few more polishes from the collection that I’ll be showing, but I’m still in search of Rainbow Connection – it’s the “Mad As A Hatter” of the collection, and of course was sold out in the display I found.
