I was looking back through my pictures and found this set that I had never published of OPI’s Pink Friday, from the Nicki Minaj Collection. Oops. This one is kind of old at this point. I think it’s still out at stores, though, so you can probably still find it fairly easily.
Pink Friday is a creamy pink that is quite warm, with a yellow undertone. I picked up others from the collection before this one, but then I started to feel interested in it. I see a lot of pictures of Nicki Minaj with bright pastel pink lips, so it seems like a fitting color for the collection. The formula was okay; it took three coats and was a little goopy but not too bad for a pastel. It’s very opaque and the slightest bit chalky.

I like that it’s kind of bright but not in a bad way, and still works for an office setting. The warmth of it makes it different than other pastel pinks in my collection.

To give an idea of the warmth, I compared to Essie’s French Affair, from Spring 2011. In the picture below Pink Friday is on my index and middle fingers and French Affair is on my ring and pinky fingers. You can see that Pink Friday has a warm-orange tone and French Affair looks stark and bluish in comparison. The formula on these is pretty similar; French Affair is also slightly thick and takes three coats to even out. I actually kind of like French Affair better with my skin, but I appreciate that these pinks are so different. It makes me want to break out these pastel pinks again for spring.

I picked up my bottle of Pink Friday at a local beauty salon but I’ve also seen it at Ulta recently. Essie’s French Affair was out at retail stores like Target and Walgreens last spring, but I’m not sure where it might still be available; there’s probably a better chance of finding it at a salon.
