OPI’s Holiday 2011 Muppets Collection is starting to turn up in stores, and today I have swatches of Warm & Fozzie.
Whew. The last couple of weeks have been really busy for me, and the untried nail polishes are starting to pile up. I’m excited to already have polishes from several of the holiday collections, but it’s been difficult to find the time to swatch them, which is frustrating.
So I’m starting with OPI’s Warm & Fozzie, from the Muppets Collection. It’s a great holiday collection, with lots of sparkly reds and glitters. Warm & Fozzie (named for Fozzie Bear, of course) is a beautiful, warm bronzy shimmer. It’s made up of lots of red and gold flaky glitters all mixed together, and can take on a slight green shimmer at the edges in some light. I love the way that this color is shimmery and complex but not over the top-it’s not as sparkly as some of the foils we saw over the last year. It flashes a reddish pink in the light that’s really pretty, and it’s also not too dark, so it doesn’t look like a plain brown.
The application on this one was very nice, although I did use three coats to be sure there was no VNL. It reminds me of autumn leaves.
This picture shows the little shimmer particles better, and the burnished, metallic sheen it has in the light. It has an almost speckly look, a bit like a tapestry.
I picked up Warm & Fozzie (and several others from the Muppets Collection) at a local salon that has been doing a great job with their nail polishes lately, and the Muppets Collection should be popping up at various other OPI retail outlets now.
Wow! Gorgeous color! I think I’m going to buy this one! 😀
