I just found a new Sally Hansen display when I was in WalGreen’s, for the Nailgrowth Miracle line. A lot of the colors seemed to be … brownish. Seriously, it seemed like there was a lot of taupe-y going on. Gentle Blossom definitely stood out as the most spring-like and vibrant, although I think there was also a kind of lavender color, too. At first I hesitated and put this one down, but it has an interesting shimmer that made me come back for it. Keep reading for swatches!
Gentle Blossom is a light, bluish pale green with white shimmer. It took three coats to be opaque, but they were easy to apply and not streaky. I really like how soft this color looks; even though it’s light it’s not one of those pastels with a lot of white in it that look really stark on your nails. I held it up next to Essie Mint Candy Apple, my other mint green, and it’s a lot less blue and less white. I think the shimmer in Gentle Blossom helps it to be opaque but not bright. I’m even thinking that it might be okay for work. It’s kind of subdued, right? But nice and springy.
In this photo you can see the shimmer. I was happy with how well the shimmer translated from the bottle to the nail, and I could see a bit of sparkle when the sun came out.
There were three bottles of this color on the display in my store, and I noticed that one of them had a different number on the bottom of the bottle than the other two. Not sure what was going on there. I bought one of the bottles that shared a number.
