This happens to me every year, but when I started shopping for Christmas presents it was like my shopping switch was flipped and I just continued on to shopping for presents for myself. This combined with several new posts by other bloggers about Sapphire In The Snow from OPI’s 2009 holiday collection resulted in me stalking eBay for this polish. I say it was bought for “too much”, but it wasn’t up to Chanel prices or anything. Or even Mad As A Hatter prices. I think it was $16 including shipping. Still more than it really should have been, but I’m happy with it.
Sapphire In The Snow is a dark but vibrant purple. A lot of people call it a blurple but on me I think it ends up being much more purple than blue. I like that it doesn’t look black, and dries really shiny. I needed three coats, but I also like the wide and flat OPI brush, and it was easy to get a nice edge at my cuticles with this one.
This shady picture does show more of the bluish undertone in this color. It’s such a nice, rich violet color. Not a color that I can get away with at work, but a nice color to have. Now I’m just trying to turn that shopping switch back off.
