Here’s another from Essie’s Resort Collection – Sure Shot, a reddish fuchsia with lots of shimmer. This polish is darker than most polishes that pop up in summer collections, but it has a bright reddish undertone that makes it great for May instead of September.
The formula on Sure Shot is fairly runny, like many heavy shimmers can be. It wasn’t so runny that it caused application problems, though, and it only took two coats to be fully opaque. The color is a bright fuchsia with a lot of purple, really glowy and pretty, especially in the sun. I really liked the way that it has brighter, red tones at the edges rather than the darker burgundy you would normally see in colors like this. The shimmer is a lighter pink with a little bit of silver. I felt like I had similar colors but the dark, rich color kept jumping out at me from displays. I’m glad I tried it, it reminds me of dark reddish flower petals.
In shadow the shimmer turns into a fine, pearly sheen.
Essie’s Resort Collection is available in retail packaging this year – I’ve seen it at both Walgreens and Target.
