Today I have swatches of two of Essie’s new spring colors, from the Navigate Her Collection. This collection is said to be finance-themed, but I feel like only a few of the colors are really clearly finance related. A Crewed Interest is a cute riff on accrued interest, but Navigate Her? I don’t get it.
Anyway, we’ll start with A Crewed Interest. This is a peachy color that somehow doesn’t seem very pastel-like; it has a lot of yellow in it and a brightness that makes it refreshing. The formula on this color is unfortunately not very good. It went on streaky for me, and took three coats to sort of even out. I still felt like I had some funny spots after the third coat, but they weren’t too obvious in daily wear. I really liked the color, which seemed so fresh and fruity for February. At the same time, it isn’t so bright that it seems garish; it’s a nice office color, too.

In low light you can see the creamy undertone.

Next up is Navigate Her, a funny light green. It’s not really minty, it’s sort of…like the inside of an avocado, with a lot of yellow. It’s leafy feeling, and also fresh. The formula on this one is better than A Crewed Interest, but it still took three coats to be opaque and even. I like that it’s also not a pastel and is a little different from other light greens I have.

In lower light, the brightness fades a bit and the color looks more greyed and softer.

So, since we’re back into the spring collections again, I decided to pull out Essie’s Kisses and Bises, the fuchsia pearl topcoat that came out in Essie’s French Affair Collection last spring. Last spring I went though a period in which I put Kisses and Bises on every polish that I wore, it’s so pretty and glowy and perfect for springtime. I really like it over Navigate Her, since the fuchsia shimmer contrasts with the green color underneath. It gives a light pink glow.

The Navigate Her Collection polishes are out now – I picked mine up at Walgreens.
This polishes are really pretty and very springy. My love for Essies just keeps growing!
Thanks for your comment! Essie has had a lot of nice collections lately.
Could you maybe compare them to June by Chanel und Waterlily by Dior? Do they look similar? Btw love your blog! XO
Thanks, Valerie! I decided to buy A Crewed Interest as a substitute for Chanel’s June, so I can’t compare them. But I’ll compare Navigate Her and Waterlily soon!
Hi. I really dig your website. I build model cars and I usually prefer nail polish as opposed to model car paint due to the multitude of colors. Your pictures are very helpful to me so I can see what the applied color actually looks like. Thanks and keep up the great work!
