Today I have swatches of one of the polishes from OPI’s Nice Stems Collection, which came out over the summer.  Come to Poppy is a bright, shimmery pink-coral.  Even though it’s been out for a while, it’s a perfect color for Pink Wednesday.

The Nice Stems Collection was one of OPI’s mini collections – it had just four polishes, all pink.  I reviewed Play the Peonies and I Lily Love You already, here.  I like that the colors in the collection are really varied, even though they’re all pink; Come to Poppy is bright and glowy while Play the Peonies is an almost-white pink.

The formula on Come to Poppy was nicely pigmented and good – it wasn’t too runny, and I only needed two coats for opacity.  The OPI brush is very wide and cut flat across the bottom, which isn’t my favorite shape, but the brush is stiff enough to keep its shape when working around the cuticles.  I like the shimmery effect that Come to Poppy gives – the shimmer is a silvery, light pink, and really glows from the darker pink base.  The coral undertones make it hot and summery feeling, although I think it could still work for a few more weeks.  It’s an interesting combination of colors.

 

This shady picture shows how fine the shimmer is.  I ended up with a few bubbles on my left hand for some reason, but my right hand dried bubble-free.

 

I tried a coat of I Lily Love You top-it’s the sparkly sheer color from the collection that is basically a topcoat.  It has big, jagged glitter pieces that are dramatic and really shiny on the nail, and flash all sorts of colors – yellow, green, orange.  I Lily Love You didn’t change the color of Come to Poppy very much.  I like how flashy it is!
