There have been promo pictures of Dior’s new Summer Mix Collection around for a while, but the polishes are proving to be oddly elusive. There are supposed to be four new polishes in a glossy/jelly formula, but so far I’ve only tracked down two.
This Dior polish was available until recently on the Dior website, and it’s still fairly easy to find online. It’s another one of those polishes that are seemingly called something different for the U.S. market, although the packaging calls it Rose Trianon.

OPI releases a collection of sheer polishes each spring (the Soft Shades Collection) and this year the theme was the New York City Ballet. I have swatches of two of the polishes, My Pointe Exactly and Pirouette My Whistle.

Essie’s Summer 2012 Collection is already out in stores, and the most sought-after polish from this collection appears to be the light blue, Bikini So Teeny – it’s been sold out of most of the displays I’ve seen. I found a bottle this week at an out of the way Walgreens and compared it to Chanel’s Coco Blue. Swatches below!

Today I have swatches of two Essies from the new Poppy Razzi Collection, a small collection of just four neon-bright colors. Both of the colors that I chose are a slightly sheer jelly finish, which is kind of unusual for neons. The colors are in fact not quite as eye-searingly bright as some neons, I think because of this finish, but they’re still very bright.

Dior’s Bronze Libertine came out back in 2010, in the holiday collection that also included Timeless Gold and Czarina Gold. I didn’t end up getting it, though, because I think it was only sold at Neiman Marcus and I wasn’t as focused on Dior at the time. And it’s been hard to find since then, until it popped up recently.
Here’s another set of pictures I’ve been meaning to publish, this time of a sheer Dior pink. This polish is one of the new, widely available Diors, but it’s called Pink Icing everywhere. However, the box is labeled in French “Rose Dauphine” and then in English underneath “Dauphine Pink”. Apparently someone decided that Americans would be totally panicked by the word ‘dauphine’, and that we should all just pretend it’s called something sugary and familiar, hence ‘icing’.

I was looking back through my pictures and found this set that I had never published of OPI’s Pink Friday, from the Nicki Minaj Collection. Oops. This one is kind of old at this point. I think it’s still out at stores, though, so you can probably still find it fairly easily.

Dior’s Icy Dew is the second of the Asia-exclusive pair of polishes released this spring. The other was Glacier, which I reviewed here. Icy Dew is a creamy off-white in the bottle with a pretty pinkish shimmer.
Dior has a couple of new summer polishes that are now available. I guess one of them isn’t really that new, since it’s a re-release of the very limited Saint-Tropez from last summer. But Bikini is an all-new peachy color that’s nice for spring into summer.
I’m happy to report that the Essie Resort 2012 Collection is out and available at Target! At one near me, anyway. I was surprised to see these because last year’s resort collection wasn’t available in retail packaging at all as far as I know – I could never find it at WalGreens or Target.

I tried another “jelly sandwich” manicure, this time using Rescue Beauty Lounge Bikini Bottom and OPI’s Gone Gonzo, and it worked out a lot better than my other attempt. Bikini Bottom is so pretty! I don’t know why it’s taken me so long to try it out.
