I’m looking forward to the new Rescue Beauty fall polishes–lately I’ve been thinking about how great Pizzicato would be for this time of the year. Pizzicato is a whitish lavender color with white-silver shimmer. So I started looking around and thought that Zoya’s Marley might help tide me over until Pizzicato comes out.

The other day I visited my most likely Walgreens candidate for full Essie collections, and found a huge display of every color from Essie’s new Brand New Bag Collection. There were four bottles of each color, it felt just like a salon display. I knew it!

Here’s one more of the retail exclusive Essies – Mochacino is a nice greyish brown with what appears to be the same thick shimmer as Essie’s Smooth Sailing (from Summer 2011). I liked the sparkle/shimmer in Smooth Sailing so much that I decided to pick this one up based on that shimmer alone.
Since Fashion’s Night Out is just around the corner (on September 8th), the internet is already buzzing with pictures of Chanel’s new trio of polishes for the event. (Hint: just like Dior’s fall polishes, they’re blue.) It got me thinking about the trio of polishes Chanel released for last year’s Fashion’s Night Out event, the Khakis, so I pulled them out to revisit them before the new polishes come out.

Today I have swatches of the last two polishes from Essie’s Brand New Bag Collection for Fall 2011.
I had to order these two polishes online since they aren’t available in the normal Essie retail displays, and I hadn’t yet found them at salons like Ulta or Beauty First. It’s too bad these aren’t available in the retail displays, because they’re really nice colors!
It seems too early for a Halloween polish, but it appears that Sally Hansen’s new Pumpkin Spice is just that. Maybe it’s more of a general fall polish? But with “pumpkin” in the name, and orange glitter in the bottle, it makes me think of fake cobwebs and white plastic vampire teeth.

I think this is the ultimate pink combination–it’s the pinkest pink I think I’ve ever personally accomplished. It’s like a 12-year old girl birthday party overload of obnoxious pink, a from-the-invitations-to-the streamers type pink.

Lady Like is the fourth polish from Essie’s Brand New Bag Collection, and the last one that is widely available through retail outlets, that I hadn’t yet reviewed. It’s a murky greyish pink creme that’s very muted and pretty. Swatches coming up!

Rose Insolent is another Chanel pink that’s bright and pretty for summertime. I picked it up a while ago but hadn’t yet used it, since it didn’t really call to me through the winter very much. But now that it’s August, it’s perfect!
I’m still trying to fit in more summer polishes before switching over to all the darker fall colors, including this next one: Essie’s California Coral. It’s a slightly muted peachy pink take on coral that is still vibrant and pretty.
