Essie’s A Cut Above is another topcoat from the new Luxeffects line. This one is a clear base with rosy pink hexagonal and small glitter pieces. I don’t wear glitters very much, but something about the swirly pinkness of this in the bottle got me.
Essie’s new Luxeffects polishes are starting to show up in stores now. I found them in Walgreens over a week ago, but things have been busy for me lately, and cloudy, so I just got them out today for the first time.

Zoya’s Neeka came out with the Fall 2011 Collection, Smoke & Mirrors. I think this was a ‘Smoke’ one, since it’s not glittery. I know it’s been out for a while, but this is the only one that I felt intrigued by, so I recently picked it up – it’s a dark, slightly greyish purple with interesting shimmer pieces.

There are not many swatches of this polish floating around, so this is one that I had to just order and hope for the best. Dior’s Beige Lotus is a peachish tan with silver shimmers that fortunately turned out to be very flattering and pretty!
I was excited to see a new Dior polish pop up on Dior.com, which I hadn’t heard anything about. The polish is Silver Lake, a dark, shimmery charcoal. The Dior website says that it’s only available on Dior.com, and was released to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Allure magazine.

Butter London Wallis is a dark, glowy polish that shines a bright golden-olive green. It’s named after Wallis Simpson, the woman for whom Edward VIII gave up the throne of England.
I have one more Halloween post to share – China Glaze’s Ick-A-Body from last year is a perfect Halloween polish that’s too nice not to revisit this year.
China Glaze’s Halloween polishes this year were mostly very dark, so I only picked up one from the collection. It’s Alive is a darkish green jelly base full of light green glitters in different sizes. It’s very sparkly!

Trendsetter is my one pick from China Glaze’s Metro Collection for Fall 2011. This is the only one that called to me – it’s a murky, mustardy yellow-green color, with gold shimmer.

Essie’s Winter 2011 Collection is showing up in salons and retail stores now – the collection is called Cocktail Bling, but it’s a set of six cremes with no glitter in sight. Essie tells us they were inspired by jewelry and precious stones. I picked up three of the colors, so I have swatches of Cocktail Bling, Bangle Jangle and Brooch the Subject.
Over this past weekend we had beautiful, sunny autumn weather. I had a chance to pull out the OPI Muppets Collection polishes and compare them against a few other polishes.
