Today I have swatches of the last two polishes from Dior’s Holiday 2011 Collection. Merveille and Apparat are both glowy reds with golden shimmer, but they’re pretty different from each other.
Dior’s Holiday 2011 Collection is available now – the Vernis d’Or Collection is made up of four gold-themed polishes, all with a pretty gold shimmer. I’ll have swatches of all four, and I started with Exquis, a deep taupe color.
Today I have swatches of Pepe’s Purple Passion, another polish from OPI’s Holiday 2011 Muppets Collection. Despite the name I would call it a purplish red rather than an actual purple.
OPI’s Be A Dahlia Won’t You is my final polish review from the Nice Stems Collection from this summer. I have been saving these swatches for a Wednesday, since it’s a perfect pinky fuchsia!
Here are swatches of a Dior polish that’s a bit confusing. Mandarin Orange is a pretty peachy orange with gold sparkles, and comes with the new wide-but-tapered Dior brush.
Today I have swatches of one of the polishes from OPI’s Nice Stems Collection, which came out over the summer. Come to Poppy is a bright, shimmery pink-coral. Even though it’s been out for a while, it’s a perfect color for Pink Wednesday.
Ebony is the second polish from Dior’s Mitzah Bricard Collection (I reviewed the other polish, Camel, here.) It’s a dark, cool brown inspired by the color of a leopard’s spots.
Back when Dior’s Pink Boa came out the spring, I tried it and didn’t like it at all. I had problems with streaking and thought it was sheer and boring. But recently when I needed a super conservative nail color for a meeting, I decided to give it one more chance, and found that I really like it! There are a few tricks to making Pink Boa behave…
Blue Rebel is the darkest blue from the Les Jeans de Chanel trio – it’s a brooding blue with grey undertones. I thought it might be the polish out of the Les Jeans trio that’s closest to Dior’s Blue Denim from their Fall 2011 Collection, so I compared to see – swatches coming up!
The next installment of my Les Jeans swatches is the lightest blue of the three – Coco Blue is a cool-toned sky blue with white pearly shimmer. Chanel has two other recent light blue releases, so I also pulled out Nouvelle Vague and Riva to compare.
Chanel’s Les Jeans de Chanel Collection for Fashion’s Night Out caused near hysteria among some polish lovers – it’s a trio of blue polishes Chanel released for Fashion’s Night Out on September 8th. These Fashion’s Night Out releases have become a Chanel tradition, and they’re pretty much guaranteed to sell out fairly quickly. Fortunately, the Chanel website worked much better this year than last year. I’ll have swatches of all three, and started with my favorite, Blue Boy.
The Painted Nail Legendary Lavender and Moon Drop Top Coat
Legendary Lavender is the most beautiful purple polish! It’s from the line of polishes developed for The Painted Nail, a nail salon in California run by Katie Cazorla. There’s a reality show about The Painted Nail, which is how I heard about it and decided to track down this polish. I have to admit that I can’t get into reality television, but this polish is amazing!
Today I have swatches of one of Dior’s Mitzah Bricard polishes – Camel is a pretty caramel-beige color. I’ve seen comments wondering if it’s close to Dior’s Safari Beige, which was just promoted with the Blue Tie Collection for Fall, so I compared them to find out.
