I’ve had Chanel’s Riva on my mind lately because Dior released a new summery blue called Saint-Tropez. Riva came out in January, and was used in Chanel’s resort show in Saint-Tropez before that, so it’s definitely part of the same summery blue polish space.

This polish was Chanel’s Holiday 2010 offering – it’s a very bright, almost purple-leaning pink. I picked it up from Nordstrom’s not that long ago when I was longing for bright, summery colors.
Today I have swatches of Dior’s Saint-Tropez, which was released to celebrate the opening of the Dior boutique there. It’s a beautiful, Mediterranean-turquoise blue creme with that tiny bit of sparse silver shimmer that many Dior polishes have. Many people have wondered how similar it is to Chanel’s Nouvelle Vague, so I have a comparison, too!
Dior recently released a limited edition set of three red polishes, each inspired by the history of the House of Dior. They’re classic, bold shades that are a step above the usual reds. Swatches coming up!

Here’s the final two polishes from Essie’s Spring 2011 Collection, French Affair. For months I kept telling myself I didn’t need pastel purple or pastel pink, but then I ended up staring at these last two from the collection in a WalGreen’s and something snapped. I had to try them out!
I wore Essie’s Smooth Sailing at the end of last week, and I enjoyed this color so much that I wanted to re-post it! I already posted it as part of the Essie 2011 Summer Collection review. Smooth Sailing is available even in the retail locations like WalGreen’s, where I picked mine up. It’s a beautiful, soft blue with heavy shimmer pieces.
Chanel’s Fall 2011 nail lacquers are already available on Chanel.com. The collection is a moody trio of heavy metallic polishes, each with its own finish. I’ve grouped all of my pictures of the collection into one post so it’s a long one!
Nouvelle Vague is an older polish, from Chanel’s Resort 2010 Collection – at the time, Chanel’s Jade was still on everyone’s mind, so it was called the “New Jade” by some people. It was mostly wishful thinking since they’re not really anything alike, but I like Nouvelle Vague all on its own, and decided to revisit it last weekend.

China Glaze’s Island Escape Collection has been out for a while now. It’s a set of vibrant, sparkly colors but they weren’t really calling to me–except for the funny, yellowy green, Cha Cha Cha.
